A lot of information in this magazine can be found on there website or by searching google. I would still read through this if you are planning to buy or build a printer.
Great collector mag
The booklet lacks a bit of structure, being a collection of articles and reviews.
There is some nice information in there for beginners though lots of history and news, articles about plastic choices, a nice review of CAD/CAM/slicing software and an in-depth comparison of many printer models.
For the price, it's worth the read.
I'd say 'Practical 3D Printers The Science and Art of 3D Printing Technology' is a more complete and structured guide if you're starting out.
This book reminded me of the car magazine "shootouts" where they have a group of cars and test them all to see which is better. The additional articles help to keep things interesting and I feel like they were honest in their reviews.
This is a good introduction into the world of 3D printing. It is presented in a manner similar to that "Consumer" magazine, providing info on each printer and its capabilities. Is it the "Ultimate" Guide? Perhaps not, but it is a good starting point.
Good source for information on 3X printers in all price ranges. My only "complaint" is some of the computer terminology (program names, file types, how to use these) was a little beyond my knowledge. I am not a computer programmer, or too terribly well versed in all of the current program and file types out there. Maybe a section on the "basics" of the software used to run a 3 D printer would be helpful for some of us computer cave men out there. Otherwise, a very informative and impartial review of what is available.
There is still value in getting the one they published 2 years ago. The tests were more exhausting, and the sample models that each printer made were easier to compare. This still has good articles about the future.
The printer in the middle of the cover isn't even for sale yet, and the company is being sued for patent infringement. Not sure I would be "reviewing" unobtanium.
